FREE E-WASTE COLLECTION DAY

Councils next free e-waste collection day will be held Saturday 15 March, 8am - 6pm at St Ignatius' College, Regis Campus 29 Riverview St, Riverview.

Council is running a limited kerbside collection for this event. This service is limited to senior residents or residents with a disability currently living in the Lane Cove Council area. Please phone Council on 9911 3593 to check your eligibility.

Please refer to the list of electronic items below to make sure your e-waste is on the accepted list.

As this is for Lane Cove and Hunters Hill residents only please bring your drivers licence or rates notice as proof of address.

FREE AND PERMANENT TV AND COMPUTER DROP OFF ZONE

Residents and small business owners in Lane Cove can now drop off their unwanted TVs and computers at the SITA locations listed below free of charge. This service is avalable all year round.

Residents can drop off free-of-charge household and small business items as listed below. A limit of 15 items per drop off applies. Under no circumstances will products be returned once disposed of.

What's accepted

All televisions, such as CRTs, Plasma, LCD and Projection televisions

Personal computers

Laptops, notebooks, palmtops and tablets

Computer monitors

Parts for personal computers - for example  internal hard drives, motherboards, cards, internal power supplies, CPUs, DVD and CD drives

Computer peripherals - for example mice, keyboards, joysticks, game pads, scanners & web cameras

Printers - for example ink-jet, dot matrix, laser printers and multi-functional devices.

NB: printer cartridges can be disposed off free of charge via the “Cartridges for Planet Ark” program. Drop off locations can be found at: http://cartridges.planetark.org/involvement/

OTHER RECYCLING OPTIONS

Ryde and Artarmon Transfer Stations also accept electronic waste however charges do apply. Currently the charge is $45 for up to 160kg of electronic waste (current as at June 2012). For more information, visit SITA's website for a list of waste disposal charges or call 1300 655 006.
