Green Waste Service

New and Improved Vegetation Collection Coming this Summer

Council is working to improve vegetation collection by providing homes and unit blocks with a free 240L green vegetation bin.

This bin will be collected fortnightly and will replace the monthly bundled collection service outlined below. There will be no change to your regular waste and recycling bin collection service. These new green bins are for garden vegetation only. Food and kitchen scraps should be placed in your compost bin or worm farm.

Rollout of these new bins is currently scheduled to take place by Summer. Until this time the current monthly bundled vegetation collection outlined below will remain in place. More information on the rollout of this new service will be available here over the coming weeks

Bundled Collection Service

All residential premises (including units) are provided with 13 green waste services per year.

Materials for the green waste collection must be contained in a designated Green Waste bin or presented as per the guidelines below on the nature strip on the night before the collection date.

Green waste bins (240 Litres) are available for purchase for $91 from the Waste Solutions Hotline on 1300 655 006. Residents can also purchase these garden waste bins through any garden retail outlet stores.  The garden waste bins remain the property of the resident. Any bin maintenance occurring as a result of wear and tear are borne by the resident as are the implications of lost or missing bins.

Green waste collections will take place on your usual collection day as scheduled on your waste calendar.
